What inspired you to become a Psychiatrist?

Growing up in Karachi, Pakistan I became aware at a very young age of the disparities in health care and knew I wanted to spend my career taking care of the underserved and those marginalized by society by bringing hope and healing with compassion and kindness.

What is your philosophy on patient care?

Living life in a way that resonates with my own truth is essential for me to serve others. I have a holistic and integrative approach to mental health care. I attend to the whole person and incorporate the mind-body-heart-spirit for healing and wellness. My vision is to guide others with mindfulness and compassion so they can reach their full potential, have faith in their journey, dream big, and love who they are.

What brought you to St. Hope Healthcare?

St. Hope emphasizes whole person healthcare for individuals and families with compassion, and I believe when we work together as a multi-specialty team and collaborate in our care for those we serve, we can truly allow the individual to be seen and heard as a person, not just a diagnosis. Healing and wellness begin in the medium of a group of shared values and vision, and I see this is possible at St. Hope.
