Questions & Answers

What inspired you to become a Psychiatrist?

In the 4th grade at my school, we were given a presentation on various  career fields. One of the women who spoke to us was an obstetrician/gynecologist. I don't quite remember what she said, but from that day moving forward I knew I wanted to become a psychiatrist!

What is your philosophy on patient care?

I believe that patient education should be of paramount importance. Many times in my career, I have encountered patients who do not understand their disorder, or even the medications they take to treat it. You should always take the necessary time to make sure your patients feel seen, heard, and have a good understanding of what is going on in their course of treatment. I believe that it is a privilege to be in a position to treat patients and you should treat every patient to the best of your abilities.

What brought you to St. Hope?

The St. Hope Foundation offers an opportunity for patients with limited resources to get all their needs met in one setting. I enjoy the most working with patients that are in the greatest need and working with St. Hope gives me that opportunity.
