St. Hope Foundation Inc., a leading nonprofit community healthcare organization in Houston specializing in diabetes, HIV/AIDS, obesity, heart disease and mental health treatments, was just named the first organization to achieve accreditation under URAC’s rigorous and revised Community Pharmacy standards, Version 2.0.

URAC is an independent, nonprofit accreditation entity, based in Washington, DC, whose mission is to advance healthcare quality through leadership, accreditation, measurement and innovation. URAC was founded in 1990 as a third-party health care quality validator.

“We’re honored to receive recognition like this from an independent, esteemed organization like URAC,” said Rodney Goodie, MBA, MPH, CEO of St. Hope Foundation. “Attaining this accreditation wasn’t easy, and it speaks volumes about the commitment our entire team has to providing the absolute highest level of service quality to patients and partners.”

“By becoming the first to achieve this updated accreditation, St. Hope Foundation is setting itself apart as a top-notch healthcare service provider with an unwavering dedication to quality,” said Shawn Griffin, M.D., President and CEO of URAC. “Everyone who works with St. Hope can tell that the organization is pushing forward to deliver excellent care to its patients and showing the path to follow elevate performance.”

“Our St. Hope team is excited to leverage what we learned during the accreditation process to inform new ways to do our jobs even better today, tomorrow, and in the days to come” Goodie said. “As far as we are concerned, there is no ceiling when it comes to quality.”

The URAC Accreditation Committee (AC) met on May 27, 2020 and granted St. Hope Foundation, Inc. on behalf of St. Hope Pharmacy FULL Accreditation for the updated 2.0 Community Pharmacy Program. The accreditation is valid until June 1, 2023.

The validation review for this application was conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 outbreak. URAC will conduct a follow-up on-site observation (tour) later, Griffin said.
